Esteem
Esteem is the need to be recognized other people as competent and capable. It includes the need to know that our work matters and that we are making some impact in the world around us.
Identity
A dictionary defines identity as
a. The condition of being a certain person or thing.
b. The set of characteristics by which a person or thing is definitively recognizable or known; the distinguishing character or personality of an individual: individuality
c. The awareness that an individual or group has of being a distinct, persisting entity; the relation established by psychological identification
Significance and purpose

Have you ever wondered what causes clinical depression? Perhaps you have been diagnosed with major depression, and that's made you question why some people get depressed but others don't.
Depression is a complex disease. No one knows exactly what causes it, but it can happen for a variety of reasons. Some people have depression during a serious medical illness. Others may have depression with life changes such as a move or the death of a loved one. Still others have a family history of depression. Those who do may have depression and feel overwhelmed with sadness and loneliness for no known reason.
My Depression
I suffer from Major Depression.This is caused by a dysfunction that does not produce enough chemicals to maintain my mood and other functions that these chemicals control.
Being a person with clinical depression, I do not have any control over its symptoms, all I can do is try to find ways to minmize my symptoms of depression.
How Does it Work
Using Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs
Normal people receive the correct dosage. On a scale of 1-10 that person receives enough brain chemicals lands in the 8-10 level. Which is called the Esteem Level
Those, live ke myself end up in the 4-5 level.
Which is below the the Social Needs of love and belonging and just above Safety Needs. One issue that can restrict from moving higher is that I need my family's permission, which so far has not been given.
If living in supportive environment, there is a good chance to end up in then 7-8 level.
In a non-supported environment each time I receive a negative from you, my depression rises.
At some point, my emotions give up, and I am left without....
